How to Choose the Right CBD oil Product

Choosing the right CBD oil products can be a challenge, especially if you are not so sure what everything means.

In this emerging counterculture market, there are many people who are curious to try CBD products but are not quite sure how to choose the right one. You can find almost everything on an online dispensary; from CBD chocolate to CBD oil- there is pretty much anything you can imagine.

So, if you are looking for a guiding hand to help wade through the abundance of different weed products then read on.

First things first- What is Cannabidiol?

Cannabidiol is CBD. CBD is Cannabidiol.

Not to be confused with Cannabinoid, Cannabidiol is one of many cannabinoids. For simplicity’s sake, we will hereon refer to cannabidiol to CBD.

So, CBD is the second most abundant cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant species. This is generally speaking because there are some cannabis plant varieties that hold more CBD than any other variety while still others will hold more THC. Most CBD specific products will be derived from plants that are bred to contain extremely low levels of THC or by nature contain mainly CBD. By extremely low read next to none. This is mainly for legalities sake as THC is more regulated and strictly controlled than CBD.

The reason for this is rather simple. THC is the main psychoactive compound responsible for causing the ‘high’ that gave cannabis such a bad rap over the past century or so. Only recently have the lawmakers and decision casters woken up to the fact that the two cannabinoids are very different indeed.

THC is a whole other subject and you will find more information on CBD Safe’s blog about this fun-loving little cannabinoid. Because CBD Safe offers CBD products such as CBD oil products and other CBD products, we will be focusing on cultivating an awareness of the CBD cannabinoid.

Most of the time CBD oil is extracted from the THC-devoid hemp plant (a strong sativa variety of the cannabis species). All fifty of the states in America allow the use of hemp-derived CBD oil. This is as long as the THC content is lower than 0.03%, which is literally an almost undetectable amount of THC. So basically, for those that are concerned about getting ‘high’ off CBD Oil products, you can lay your fears down to rest.

So how do you know which CBD Oil products to choose?

Well, you need to start by asking yourself a few defining questions:

    1. How fast do you want the CBD product to work?
    2. How discrete do you want to be?
    3. What do you want to use the CBD oil products for?

These questions are not only there to make you decide, but to also become aware and conscious of your CBD use. It is important to cultivate a conscious use of cannabis because cannabis was misunderstood for so long that a damaging counter culture emerged out of the black market and people began using cannabis as an act of rebellion and without much respect for the plant and its uses. Many damaging stereotypes were created, by both Hollywood and the shadow culture, and now that cannabis is slowly being integrated back into society, we have a responsibility to set up a solid foundation with healthy parameters.

When selecting your CBD product, take the following into consideration:

What does this mean? Basically, you need to take into account the bioavailability (absorption) of the CBD product.

This means to understand how your body absorbs the CBD and what reaction will take place. After the CBD Oil product is ingested, how will the metabolic system affect the CBD? If you eat a CBD Living Chocolate bar, the edible will pass through the metabolic system and will take longer to absorb and therefore react to the CBD. If you however take CBD oil under your tongue, the absorption will be much faster and it will not have to pass through complex metabolic processes. This not only effects the speed of the reaction to CBD but more important the percentage. Vaping and tinctures will allow you to absorb a much higher percentage of the ingested CBD than oral products (like CBD edibles).

The speed of reaction is the fastest with sublingual (under the tongue) and inhalation (vaping). Ways to slow down the onset are through ingestion via edibles. The edibles may take longer to be absorbed but remember, they usually last longer too.

    The bottom line?

All CBD Oil products have their own uses, and it can be handy to have a few different CBD products on hand and ready for whichever one suits you or your occasion. Have a CBD oil ready for times when you need a quick relief from insomnia or anxiety and have a delicious CBD Chocolate bar on hand to nibble on before a social event where you want to feel relaxed and happy for a longer length of time.
